Olena Saienko

Olena Saienko has a diverse work experience in the field of UX design. Olena is currently working at M-Files as a UX Designer. Prior to this, they worked at Abertay University as a PHD Researcher, where they focused on co-design for social innovation creation with not-for-profit organizations. Olena facilitated focus groups and ideation workshops, analyzed and synthesized data, and offered design implications based on research insights. Olena also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Researcher during their time at Abertay University.

Before joining Abertay University, Olena worked at Outotec as a UX design trainee. Olena also gained research experience at Tampere University, where they worked on projects related to User Experience design, including research on XR with Nokia partnership.

Olena also has teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at Tampere University of Technology. Additionally, they have worked as a UI/UX Designer at Creavi, and as a UI/UX Designer Trainee at Smartica/Skykillers. Olena started their career as a Market Researcher at Ciklum.

Overall, Olena Saienko has a strong background in UX design, with experience in research, teaching, and co-design for social innovation creation.

Olena Saienko obtained a Master's degree in Sociology from National Aviation University, where they studied from 2008 to 2013. Olena then pursued a Master's degree in Human technology interaction at Tampere University from 2017 to 2019. Currently, they are completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computing and Games at Abertay University, which they started in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2023.

In addition to their academic background, Olena Saienko has obtained a certification in Google UX Design Specialization from Coursera in March 2023.
