Jonathan Malcolm

Quantum Technology Scientist at M Squared Lasers

Jonathan Malcolm has worked in the field of quantum technology since 2011. Jonathan began their career as a Doctoral Researcher and Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. In 2011, they also took on the role of Visiting Researcher at Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany, where they gained experience of scientific research in the Institut für Quantenoptik.

In 2015, Jonathan Malcolm joined M Squared Lasers as a Quantum Technology Scientist, Visiting Researcher, and Knowledge Transfer Intern. As a Visiting Researcher, they developed quantum technologies and transferred knowledge and expertise in quantum systems from University to industry.

Jonathan Malcolm attended the University of Birmingham from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained an MSci in Physics. Jonathan then continued their studies at the University of Birmingham, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Atomic Physics in 2015. Prior to this, they attended Woolston Sixth Form from 2005 to 2007.
