Nathaniel graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2021 and holds a BA from Columbia University. During law school, Nathaniel successfully represented clients in negotiation and litigation as a student attorney. He helped tenants fight back against potential evictions and their landlords’ negligence, successfully obtaining rent reductions, damages settlements, and long overdue repairs. He also helped a small business owner negotiate with prosecutors to favorably dispose of a years-old misdemeanor charge, and successfully represented the client at sentencing on the reduced charge. Through his clinical work, Nathaniel also prepared appellate briefing for appeal of a multicount felony conviction at the Michigan Court of Appeals and successfully represented a laid-off worker in overturning a wrongful denial of benefits at an agency hearing. Prior to law school, Nathaniel worked as an investigator with the City of New York’s independent police oversight body, the Civilian Complaint Review Board, investigating cases of excessive force and other serious misconduct by NYPD officers. He has also worked as an investigator on matters including whistleblower litigation against a major pharmaceutical company. Originally from Chicago, IL, Nathaniel’s interests outside of work include music and the outdoors.
