Michael Tong

Michael Tong has extensive experience in operations and contract management across the engineering and energy sectors. Currently serving as Operations Director at Mace since March 2015, Michael leads the procurement efforts for the Sizewell C nuclear power station, managing a significant budget of approximately £6 billion. Prior to this role, Michael was a Commercial Contracts Manager at Renewable Energy Systems, where responsibilities included overseeing EPC and turbine contracts and leading multi-disciplinary teams on substantial projects. Experience at UK Power Networks as Contracts Manager involved managing a portfolio of contracts with an annual spend of around £140 million. Michael also contributed to the London 2012 Olympic infrastructure as a Commercial Manager at Mace and held various roles at Halcrow, where expertise in contractual negotiations and civil engineering was developed. Michael holds a Master of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol.
