Ayan Banerjee

Ayan Banerjee has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Starting in 2003, they worked as a Lead Member Consulting Staff at Mentor Graphics, where they played a crucial role in developing HDL compilers for FPGA and emulation products. Ayan also worked on implementing compiler optimizations to improve performance and memory management.

In 2011, Ayan joined Microsoft as an SDE II in the WebData & Indexing team. Here, they built a high-performance HTML5 parser and contributed to bootstrapping the Satori project for international markets. Over the years, they progressed to roles such as Senior Software Engineer Manager and Principal Software Engineer Manager. Ayan led teams that delivered innovations in scaling Microsoft Knowledge Graph Satori, as well as building technologies like Visual Table Extraction and Semi-Automated PCFG generation.

In their most recent role at Microsoft, Ayan served as the Principal Software Engineering Manager for Shopping Marketplace, Recommendation, and Fraud Detection. Ayan was responsible for leading a group of applied scientists, solving data science problems, and developing ML models and pipelines. Ayan owned the fraud prevention strategy for Buy Direct and built a Fraud Prevention service utilizing various signals and third-party fraud prevention services.

Currently, Ayan works as a Staff Software Engineer at Machinify, Inc., starting in 2023. The details of their role and responsibilities in this position are not provided.
