Steven Friedman

Steven Friedman is a seasoned macro economist and managing director at MacKay Shields LLC, where employment began in May 2019. Prior to this role, Steven served as a senior economist at BNP Paribas Asset Management from September 2015 to May 2019, and as director of central banks and official institutions at Fischer, Francis, Trees and Watts from October 2013 to September 2015. Earlier experience includes a position as vice president and director of market analysis at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York from 1998 to 2013. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Columbia Business School (2010-2011), studies at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) (1996-1998), and a Bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University (1989-1993). Additionally, foundational education was completed at Tenafly High School.
