Erik Smith

Erik Smith is a Mechanical Design Engineer at Turntide Technologies since June 2022, specializing in high-efficiency electric motor systems for off-highway vehicles and HVAC applications. Erik leads the mechanical design process, conducts in-depth design analyses using Finite Element Analysis, and employs rapid prototyping techniques. In addition, Erik operates as the Sole Proprietor of Fermwerks, creating customized pressure vessels and food-grade components for homebrewing. Previously, Erik served as a Systems Designer at Angstrom Engineering Inc., managing a team in the development of thin film deposition systems, and worked as a Mechanical Designer at SUEZ in North America, focusing on large-scale piping systems for water treatment. Erik holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering from Carleton University.
