Jonathan Hanson

Jonathan Hanson has over 20 years of work experience in finance and business management. Jonathan currently holds the position of Senior Director of Finance at Macmillan Learning since 2016. Prior to that, they worked at Cengage Learning from 2006 to 2015, where they served as the Director of Finance and later as the Business Manager. During their time at Cengage, they were responsible for gross margin planning, reporting, and analysis of a $1.2B Domestic Learning unit. Jonathan also worked closely with executive management and auditors for forecasting returns reserve and deferred revenue. Before joining Cengage, Jonathan worked at Thomson Learning from 2000 to 2006, initially as an Associate Business Manager and later as a Business Analyst. At Thomson Learning, they provided financial support and analysis for a $50M business unit, including product teams, sales, marketing, production, inventory, and manufacturing.

Jonathan Hanson attended Phillips Exeter from 1995 to 1996. Jonathan later pursued their undergraduate degree in Economics at Amherst College from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a BA.
