Luca Cassetta

VP Immunology at Macomics

Luca Cassetta's work experience includes various roles in different companies. In 2006, they started as a Phd student at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele Milano, where they studied the regulation of HIV-1 replication. Luca also worked as a Fellow, studying Herpes Virus 1 and 2, and successfully isolated a neutralizing anti HSV1/2 antibody.

In 2011, Cassetta joined Albert Einstein College of Medicine as a Postdoc until 2013. From 2014 to 2020, they worked at The University of Edinburgh as a Postdoctoral Fellow and later as a Principal Investigator. During this time, they focused on research projects related to their field.

In 2014, Cassetta co-founded AIRIcerca, an International Association of Italian Researchers, serving as the President. And finally, in 2018, they founded Macomics and currently holds the position of VP Immunology.

Overall, Cassetta has a strong background in scientific research and leadership roles, with expertise in immunology, virology, and molecular biology.

Luca Cassetta completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Biotechnology from Universita' Milano Bicocca, which they attended from 2000 to 2005. Prior to that, from 1995 to 2000, they obtained their Diploma in Liceo Scientifico from Liceo Scientifico GB. Grassi Saronno. Luca also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Albert Einstein Medical College, although the specific dates and degree obtained during this experience are unknown.
