Lisa Tuvalo has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Lisa started their career in 2010 as a Producer and Director at Heart and Soul Productions LLC, where they produced, wrote, and directed films and web series of different genres. Currently, they are working on a narrative film about the effects of the Freddie Gray riots and has also optioned the bestselling thriller "Identity Crisis."
Additionally, in 2012, Lisa worked as a Script Reader at SpecScout and as a Consultant for Editing and Cinematography of a documentary at Kairos Project. In these roles, they provided feedback, suggestions, and critiques to filmmakers and assisted in film production.
Lisa has also worked as a Journalist and Photographer at patch.com from 2010 to 2012, where they covered various news stories and captured photographs.
Furthermore, they have experience in the field of education, having worked as a Math, Chemistry, SAT, and English Tutor at Certified Learning Centers, Inc. from 2013 to 2015, and as a Piano Teacher at Laurissa Jane Music Studio from 2013 to 2015. During this time, they honed their teaching skills and provided instruction in both academic and music-related subjects.
Lisa also has experience in marketing and communications, having worked as a Marketing and Communications Specialist at MADCAD.com by Compu.tecture, Inc. from 2015, where they conducted research on building codes, edited and proofread national code books, and managed communication materials.
Furthermore, Lisa has freelanced as a self-employed Piano Teacher since 2015, providing private lessons to students.
In 2021, Lisa joined Double Espresso Media LLC as a Producer and Director, where they continue to contribute their expertise in film production.
Lisa Tuvalo completed their education with a B.F.A. in Film/TV from the School of Visual Arts in 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in British and American Literature from the University of Maryland, attending from 1992 to 1995. Lisa also holds a B.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland, which they earned between 1986 and 1992.
