Alina Graham

User Centred Principal (secondment) at Made Tech

Alina Graham has extensive work experience in the field of user research and ergonomics. Alina currently holds the position of Lead User Researcher at Made Tech. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior User Researcher at the Ministry of Justice Digital & Technology, where they played a key role in developing a digitally-enabled justice system within prisons. Alina excelled in planning, designing, and conducting user research activities to support the design and continuous improvement of prison services. Alina also led teams in analyzing research data and generating actionable insights.

Before joining the Ministry of Justice, Alina worked at JCB, where they held various roles, including Principal Ergonomist/Human Factors Specialist, Senior Group Ergonomist, and Group Ergonomist. In these positions, they were responsible for developing next-generation cabs that prioritized user comfort, usability, visibility, and functionality. Alina collaborated with various departments and stakeholders to establish ergonomic best practices within the organization.

Alina's work experience also includes a 12-month placement as an Ergonomist at Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd, where they implemented ergonomic improvements across multiple production plants and subcontracted facilities.

Alina started their career as a Receptionist/Team Leader at Forest Rise Hotel, where they managed a team and ensured high customer satisfaction through excellent service.

Outside of their professional roles, Alina served as the Student Committee Chair at the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors, where they organized meetings, managed committee jobs, and contributed to the magazine.

In summary, Alina Graham has a strong background in user research, ergonomics, and leadership roles. Alina'sexpertise lies in conducting research, analyzing data, and generating actionable insights to improve user experiences.

Alina Graham graduated from Rawlins Community College in 2009 with a High School degree. During their time at Rawlins Community College, Alina studied sport science, psychology, and art/design A levels.

In 2009, Alina enrolled at Loughborough University where they pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Ergonomics (Human Factors Design). Alina completed their undergraduate studies in 2013.

Following their bachelor's degree, Alina continued their education at the University of Nottingham from 2018 to 2022. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science - MS degree in Applied Ergonomics and Human Factors.

In addition to their formal education, Alina Graham also earned a certification in Chartership from the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors in June 2016.
