Dan Basacik

Senior User Researcher at Made Tech

Dan Basacik has extensive work experience in human factors and research roles within the rail and transportation industry. Dan is currently employed at Made Tech as a User Researcher. Prior to that, they worked at RSSB for almost a decade, starting as a Human Factors Specialist and progressing to become a Principal Human Factors Specialist. In this role, they were responsible for leading the Fatigue Risk Management topic area, collaborating with industry stakeholders and overseeing the team's work. Before joining RSSB, Dan worked at TRL as a (Senior) Human Factors Researcher, where they focused on ergonomics projects related to postural risk, task efficiency, distraction, and human error in safety critical systems. Dan also managed various driving simulator and naturalistic driving studies.

Dan Basacik earned a Professional Diploma in User Experience Design from the UX Design Institute in 2021-2022. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Ergonomics at Loughborough University from 2005 to 2006. Their undergraduate education includes a first-class Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems from the University of East Anglia, which they obtained from 2001 to 2004.
