A member of the UNITED GRINDING Group

Karl Mägerle and his brother Max founded Gebrüder Mägerle GmbH in 1929 as a company for trading in metal goods. This was followed by the acquisition of the Fritz Wunderli AG grinding machine business three years later, enabling the company's entry into the grinding industry. This laid the foundation for an unprecedented success story in Swiss quality mechanical engineering.

Mägerle set the most important milestone in 1980. Its flat and profile grinding machines, which are now established worldwide, were built for the first time with a fully enclosed hydrostatic guideway system. This groundbreaking design principle distinguishes MÄGERLE's cutting-edge technology to the present day and forms the unique basis for unsurpassed results in precision, costeffectiveness, reliability and long service life.

Mägerle enjoys a long-established reputation around the world for its flat and profile grinding machines. With their equally high material removal rates and machining precision, they are recognised on the market as top-class machines. They demonstrate their performance and versatility daily in demanding applications at companies in the turbine industry, the automotive and aircraft industry, the hydraulics industry and the energy sector, as well as machine tools and toolmaking. All industries that place the highest demands on mechanical, ergonomic and operational qualities.

Together with BLOHM and JUNG, the MÄGERLE brand forms the technology group Surface and Profile Grinding within the UNITED GRINDING Group.

The UNITED GRINDING Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of precision machines for grinding, eroding, laser, measuring, and combination machining. With around 2,500 employees at more than 20 manufacturing, service, and sales locations, the Group has a customer-oriented and effective organization.
