Gerrit Maus

Gerrit Maus is the Director of Quantified Experience at Magic Leap since August 2022, leading a team of research scientists focused on human visual perception. Previously, Gerrit served as a Nanyang Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore from October 2015 to December 2021, where responsibilities included leading a research lab, training graduate students and postdocs, and teaching courses in Psychology and Neuroscience. Other roles include Lecturer at California State University, East Bay, Staff Scientist and Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Berkeley, Visiting Scholar at Université Paris Descartes, Research Fellow at Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute, and Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Davis, all with a focus on visual perception research. Gerrit's educational background includes a DPhil in Psychology from the University of Sussex and a BSc in Cognitive Science from Universität Osnabrück, along with a Psychology degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
