John Capone is an optical scientist and engineer with over 14 years of experience in advancing scientific and spaceflight instrumentation. They served as the Optics Lead for the HARMONI Spectrograph System at the University of Oxford from 2016 to 2021, where they managed optical design and analysis for a €4M system. Currently, as a Staff Optical Engineer at Magic Leap since 2025, they continue to develop advanced optical solutions. John holds a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Maryland College Park and a BS in Physics from The George Washington University, where they graduated with honors.
