John Hwong is an experienced user experience researcher currently serving as the Lead UX Researcher at Magic Leap since March 2021. Previously, John worked at IBM as a User Researcher from July 2018 to February 2021, and at Synergis as a User Research Associate from January 2018 to July 2018. Additional experience includes a project at NASA Ames Research Center as part of an MHCI Project Capstone, a role as a Senior Market Research Analyst at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, and managerial positions related to consumer insights at Ask.com and Lieberman Research Worldwide. John holds a Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University and a BA in International Studies with an emphasis on Economics from UC San Diego.
