Nathan Baumli

Nathan Baumli is an accomplished professional in the field of computer vision, currently serving as a Staff Engineer at Magic Leap since December 2018, focusing on head tracking and SLAM. Previously, Nathan held various positions at Insightness AG, including Co-Founder and Head of Software, where efforts included building software infrastructure for Evaluation Kits 1 and 2, and previously as a Computer Vision Engineer developing the company’s first Proof-of-Concept for event-based Visual-Inertial Odometry. Nathan's career also includes roles at ETH Zurich as a Teaching Assistant, and internships at ABB, where contributions included enhancing calibration processes and research in industrial robotics, resulting in published papers. Nathan holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Robotics, Systems, and Control, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from ETH Zurich.
