David Chen

David Chen is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in software architecture and engineering leadership. Currently serving as a Software Architect and Director of Engineering at Magic since October 2018, David has led the development of critical features, including SMS-based authentication and multi-factor authentication (MFA), while spearheading the adoption of OKRs within the engineering team. Prior to Magic, experience includes roles at Yelp from January 2013 to October 2018 as a Technical Lead and Software Engineer, and an internship in Business Analytics and Metrics. Earlier work includes positions as an iOS Developer at OANDA, Software Developer at Arista Networks, and Software Developer at Achievers. David holds a Bachelor of Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
