John Wilson

John Wilson possesses extensive experience in the electrical industry, currently serving as a Field Technology Specialist at MainPower New Zealand Limited since November 2013. In this role, John focuses on enhancing tools and systems to optimize operational efficiency. Previous positions at MainPower include Maintenance Programme Manager, Project Manager - Routine Services, Substations & Switchgear Supervisor, and Electrician, where John significantly contributed to the construction of the network's inaugural 66/22kV substation in West Canterbury. Prior to MainPower, John worked as a Self Employed Electrician specializing in mine-site construction and iron ore processing plant maintenance, and held the position of Electrician/Production Manager at TLJ Switchgear. John holds a Certificate IV in Instrumentation from Polytechnic West and has further educational credentials from Melbourne Business School and Southern Institute of Technology.
