Jonathan Battson

Jonathan Battson currently serves as the Head of Asset Management and Operations at MainPower New Zealand Limited, a position held since June 2017, where responsibilities include overseeing the lifecycle of network assets and ensuring the safe operation of the electricity network. Prior to this role, Jonathan worked as the Head of Assets and Operations on secondment and as the Network Operations and Control Centre Manager at MainPower. Jonathan's experience also includes positions at Transpower New Zealand, where responsibilities involved performance and risk management, as well as condition assessment for the national grid, and at Contact Energy Ltd as a Generation Engineer focused on gas turbine upgrades. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) with Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
