The Maison Léon Blum, last residence of the famous French politician and literary man, has been dedicated to his memory since 1986. As a survivor of the Buchenwald camp, Léon Blum lived at the « Clos des Metz » in Jouy-en-Josas, with his wife Jeanne, from 1945 until the end of his life in 1950. 

At her death in 1982, Jeanne Blum bequeathed the House to the city of Jouy-en-Josas with the mission to maintain the memory of Léon Blum and to develop cultural and artistic activities there. Nestled in a green setting, the House, left as it is, reflects with authenticity the happy sobriety in which the couple lived. 

It received the label «Maison des Illustres» by the Ministry of Culture in 2012.
A place of cultural life, the museum is managed and animated by the Association «Maison Léon Blum». It relies on a Scientific Committee composed of specialists and historians for the elaboration of its cultural project.

Throughout the year, we are keen to welcome individual, group and school visitors to discover the action and personality of Léon Blum in all his diversity, as well as the life of his wonderful wife Jeanne. A journey through history at the heart of the intimacy of the man of the Popular Front.
