CPDO at Make A Difference

Usha is currently the CPDO at Make A Difference. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Consultant for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office project for PwC from January 2019 to October 2021. Usha was responsible for contributing towards the ease of doing business program for 5 states in India, designing and developing the GI score card, developing indicators for measurement of progress on enterprise management, and looking at growth prospects.

Before that, they worked as an International Expert -Fin Ed & Business Management, Capacity Building - Quality Assurance for KfW funded for Business Finance Consulting from January 2018 to March 2021. In this role, they provided design inputs for developing a strategy for agri farmers Phase 1, strengthened capacity of two local partner banks in order to expand their rural and agricultural MSME lending business and increased access to finance for rural and agricultural enterprises, and improved financial literacy and business capacities of rural and agricultural enterprises in order to increase their knowledge of financial products, agricultural technologies and good practices as a mean to foster their productivity and commercialization.

Usha has a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics with specialization in Enterprise Development from Bangalore University. Usha also has a Master's Degree in Banking, Agriculture Economics and International Trade from Bangalore University. Usha has a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, Sociology and Economics (British and Commonwealth) from Bangalore University. Usha also has certification from Coady International Institute, Nova Scotia in Livelihoods and Markets and from ISEC in Research Methodology.
