Sebastian Mertens

Sebastian Mertens is a seasoned professional in AI product development and digital transformation, currently serving as Head of Applied AI at Make since May 2022. Mertens is responsible for crafting and executing AI strategies that drive innovation and operational excellence. Previously, Mertens held positions as Head of Strategic Projects and Strategic Advisor at Bots and People, demonstrating expertise in enhancing internal efficiency and executing over 250 automation projects. Mertens co-founded Wemakefuture, serving as CEO until 2021 and later as Chairman, leading both companies in automation and digital transformation. Mertens has also lectured on Cloud Automation and iPaaS and contributed to various organizations as a digital consultant and educator. With a Master of Science in Digital Management and Transformation and a Bachelor of Arts in IT Management, Mertens combines extensive educational background with diverse industry experience.
