Mohammad Owainati has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Mohammad is currently working as a Senior Product Designer at Fable, an accessibility platform that focuses on making products more accessible for individuals with disabilities. Prior to this, Mohammad held various roles at Canada Post / Postes Canada, including Product Designer, Product Design Lead, and Product Designer / UX Designer. In these roles, they led the design of new services and managed teams of designers, while also contributing to research, wire-framing, prototyping, and usability testing. Additionally, Mohammad worked as a Youth Mentor at The Peer Project - Youth Assisting Youth and was an Event Host and Co-organizer for UX Lightning Talks, where they helped organize and host talks on user-centered design. Earlier in their career, Mohammad worked as a Marketing Manager and Marketing Specialist at TELUS, where they were responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies for various products and services. Mohammad also had a brief stint as a Sales Associate at EB Games.
Mohammad Owainati obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a dual specialization in Marketing and Operations Management & Information Systems from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Mohammad attended this program from 2004 to 2008. In 2016, they participated in two short-term courses at General Assembly Canada. The first course was in Front-End Web Development, and the second course focused on User Experience and Product Design. In April 2018, they obtained a certification in Professional Web Accessibility Auditing Made Easy from The Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University.
