Brenda Barr

Brenda Barr is the current Director of Education & Research at Makematic. Brenda has extensive experience in education, having served as the Assistant Director, Teaching and Learning at the Colorado Department of Education, the Social Studies Curriculum Supervisor at the Colorado Department of Education, and the Principal of Strawberry Park Elementary School and Buena Vista Elementary School.

Brenda Barr has a PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Denver, an MA in Education from The University of Alabama, and a Bachelor's degree in Theirtory-Major Political Science & Education-Minor from The University of Alabama. Brenda also has certification from IDEO U in Foundations in Design Thinking, the University of Mississippi in Gifted and Talented, Google in Google Certified Teacher, American Montessori Society in Montessori Administrator, Harvard Graduate School of Education in Scaling for Impact, and Esri in T3G.

They are on a team with Beatrijs Lelyveld - VP of Licensing & Partnerships, Melissa Hodder - Project Management Executive, and Michelle Holt - Director of Content Operations. Brenda Barr reports to Mark Nagurski, Co-Founder & CEO.
