Mike Rutz has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Mike is currently the Co-Founder/CEO of MakeMyMove, a position they assumed in August 2021. Prior to this, they held the role of Co-founder/Executive Vice President at MakeMyMove from January 2018 to July 2021.
Before their role at MakeMyMove, Rutz worked at Angie's List for several years. Mike held various positions including SVP, Sales Operations and Strategy from July 2015 to October 2017, VP, Sales from January 2011 to July 2015, General Manager, E-Commerce from January 2010 to January 2011, General Manager, Angie's List Health from July 2008 to January 2010, and Director of Client Success from July 2006 to July 2008. During their tenure at Angie's List, Rutz was responsible for various areas such as sales operations, strategic planning, budgeting, lead generation, and sales growth.
Rutz also has experience in political campaigns and fundraising. Mike served as the Director of Fundraising/Finance Chairman at Mitch Daniels for Governor from January 2004 to July 2007, where they raised a record-breaking $18M for the campaign. Mike was also involved in managing fundraising activities, coordinating events, and working with large donors.
In addition, Rutz served as the President of Care Ambulance Service, Inc. from January 2005 to July 2006, leading the turnaround of the company and successfully managing its sale. Mike also worked at the Indiana Republican Party as the Director of Fundraising from June 2002 to January 2004, raising over $3M and overseeing fundraising activities.
Rutz began their career as a Communication Coordinator at the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation from May 2000 to June 2002, where they organized public forums and contributed to education advocacy efforts. Mike also served as the Deputy Campaign Manager at Gatzimos for Congress from February 2000 to May 2000, and as a Special Assistant for the Gilroy for Mayor campaign from January 1999 to December 1999.

Mike Rutz attended Indiana University Bloomington from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in French Language and Literature. In April 2014, they obtained a Private Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration.
