MAKI Batteries builds the world's first repairable high-performance battery packs.

Over 99 percent of battery packs deployed today are spot-welded and sealed shut. When a single cell fails, the entire pack becomes a four-figure write-off, even though 99 percent of the hardware still works. Across industry, that adds up to roughly EUR 3.2 billion of value destroyed every year. The same architecture also blocks direct cell cooling, which caps charging speed and shortens lifetime.

We solve both problems at the contact layer.

Our patented Force-Fit cell contacting replaces spot welds with a one-sided pressure contact. The result:
Individual cells are swappable in minutes instead of scrapping the full pack. Up to 75 percent lower total cost of ownership over 20 years.

One-sided contacting opens a direct thermal path to every cell. Up to 3x faster charging, longer cycle life, and record performance even under passive cooling.

A serviceable, modular pack architecture that is engineered ahead of the EU Battery Repairability Directive coming into force in 2027.

As a spin-off from Second Ride, we combine deep battery expertise with a clear focus on repairability, long lifetime, and strong business cases.
