John Straw

John Straw has over 25 years of professional experience in the technology industry. John began their career in 1995 with Quantum Compliance Systems as a Systems Analyst, where they developed relational database software to help corporations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations. John then moved to Pointe Technologies in 1997, where they designed and developed an application server and database system to aid U.N. organizations manage official travel approval.

In 1999, they joined BellSouth as a Systems Analyst/Programmer - Lead, where they acted as the lead developer for a UI team designing and building a web-based billing system for an internet advertising business unit. John then moved to YELLOWPAGES.COM in 2006, where they held the positions of Chief Software Architect and Chief Architect, Web Systems. In this role, they participated in the effort to design and build support for user-generated reviews of businesses on a consumer local search site and led a development team to completely re-design and re-implement the consumer local search site.

John then moved to DexYP in 2017 as AVP, Digital, where they participated in the evaluation and design of approaches to utilize existing YP technology to facilitate moving customer accounts and customer product management, fulfillment and billing to combined DexYP systems. John then joined LERETA, LLC in 2018 as VP, Engineering, where they were hired to build and lead a development team to build a new operations automation platform in Google Cloud Platform for a property-tax-management company to replace an existing mainframe (and everything else) platform.

John is currently working at Malachiarts as Lead Technologist.

John Straw obtained a B.S. in Physics from Duke University from 1987 to 1991 and an M.S. in Physics from the University of Minnesota from 1991 to 1993.
