Shaheed Alam

Shaheed Alam is an experienced finance professional with a strong background in risk management and portfolio analytics. Currently serving as VP of Group Portfolio Management and Balance Sheet Optimisation at Maybank since August 2020, responsibilities include balance sheet optimisation and integrating ESG and climate risk into portfolio management. Prior to this, roles at Standard Chartered Bank encompassed Head of Risk Appetite and Head of Portfolio Risk Analytics, focusing on risk tolerance and global stress testing. Earlier experience at GE Capital involved managing stress testing and risk forecasting, and a foundational role at Mintel centered on consumer research analytics. Shaheed holds an MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics from The London School of Economics and a BSc in Geography with Applied Computing from King's College London.
