Maria Terzi has a wealth of work experience, beginning with a Software Engineer Intern position at Google in 2011. In 2016, they moved to UCLan Cyprus as an Associate Lecturer, and then in 2018, they took on a similar role at the University of Cyprus. Also in 2018, they became a Research Associate at KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence. Finally, in 2020, Maria co-founded and became the CEO of Malloc, an AI startup providing solutions for privacy and data security.
Maria Terzi has a long and varied educational history. Maria started their education in 2003, when they obtained a Level 2 Book-keeping & Accounts qualification from LCCI International Qualifications in March. From 2004 to 2007, they attended Pancyprian Lyceum Larnaca, where they studied Mathematics, Physics, Architectural Plan, and Computing. In 2007, they graduated from Lancaster University with a BSc Hons Computer Science Innovation. Maria then returned to Lancaster University from 2010 to 2017, where they earned their Ph.D in Computer Science. Maria has also obtained several certifications, including a Security and Privacy for Big Data qualification from EIT Digital in 2020, a Secure and Private AI scholar qualification from Facebook in 2019, a Deep Learning qualification from Udacity in 2017, an Introduction to Python for Data Science qualification from edX in 2017, an Introduction to Data Science qualification from Udacity in 2016, a Developing Innovative Ideas for New Companies: The First Step in Entrepreneurship qualification from Coursera in 2014, a Neural Networks for Machine Learning qualification from Coursera in 2012, and a Level 2 Book-keeping & Accounts qualification from LCCI International Qualifications in 2003. Most recently, in 2021, Maria attended Y Combinator.
