Matt Burgess

Matt Burgess has over 16 years of experience in software engineering and development. Matt is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Malwarebytes, where they manage a department of 29 employees and oversees a multi-million dollar budget. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer Development Manager at Priority Payment Systems, where they led multiple teams and achieved a 0% turnover rate. Matt has also held roles at Healthcare Staffing Technologies, HotSchedules, North Point Ministries, Brilliant and Skylar, Classical Conversations, Virtual Premise, SnagAJob.com, and Mobile Streams, where they gained experience in various technologies and methodologies. Overall, Matt Burgess has a strong background in agile development, team leadership, and product management.

Matt Burgess attended Samford University from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and German. Matt then went on to Dallas Theological Seminary and received a Master's degree in Bible/Biblical Studies in 2015. In addition, Matt has obtained certifications including Full Stack Observability Practitioner Exam from New Relic in September 2023 and Scrum Master certification from the International Scrum Institute™ in 2018.
