Pedro Chaves

Pedro Chaves has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and security consulting. Pedro is currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Malwarebytes since 2023. Prior to that, Pedro worked at Siemens as a SecDevOps Engineer, contributing to the development of a scalable distributed system capable of processing thousands of events per second. Pedro also served as a Master Thesis Intern at Siemens, where they developed a correlation engine using Flink's stream processing framework and a custom event processing language. Pedro started their career at Unisys as a Security Consultant in 2015.

Pedro Chaves holds a Master's degree in Information Security from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, which they completed between 2015 and 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, which they completed between 2012 and 2015. In addition, Pedro has obtained the certification of HP ATP - ArcSight Security V1 from Hewlett-Packard in 2015.
