Manasota Bringing Up Down Syndrome (BUDS) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides programs, services, and support to the Down syndrome community.  

Our Mission is to provide families with a neutral and supportive forum for sharing and networking, and to promote understanding and acceptance of Down syndrome.

Founded in 2002, our 20+ year organization faithfully serves over 250 families affected by Down syndrome in the Florida Suncoast area.  We are affiliates of the National Down Syndrome Society, the National Down Syndrome Congress, and the Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action.  Each October, Manasota BUDS hosts a Buddy Walk that serves as the organization's primary fundraiser and awareness campaign.

Our diverse group of members range in ages from newborn to adult.  We offer our members and their families a variety of programs, scholarships, educational opportunities, and events.
