Nelson McKenzie is an experienced professional with a diverse background in safety and support roles. At The Y (YMCA) Aotearoa New Zealand, Nelson served as a Senior Lifeguard, responsible for pool safety and training new lifeguards from January 2019 to October 2020. Currently, Nelson works as a Disability Support Carer at Manawanui, providing companionship and care for a young man with muscular dystrophy since March 2022. In addition, Nelson held the position of Issuing Officer at the New Zealand Electoral Commission | Te Kaitiaki Take Kōwhiri from 2020 to 2023, managing the issuance and counting of votes during the General Elections. Nelson has also operated ski lifts at NZSki from June 2021 to September 2023, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
