James Bents

James Bents is a seasoned security professional with extensive experience in various roles within public and federal sectors. Currently serving as a Security Specialist at Mandiant, part of Google Cloud, James collaborates with cyber-security executives to deliver advanced security solutions to public sector and higher education clients across the Western U.S. James also teaches as an Adjunct Faculty member in Criminal Justice at Western Oregon University. Prior to these roles, James spent over two decades with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, managing significant operations in Oregon and acting as a liaison with law enforcement officials. James's career began in the U.S. Army, where James served as an Intelligence Officer with the rank of Captain. Academically, James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering/Literature from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
