Jared Wilson

Jared Wilson has a diverse work history in the field of cybersecurity. Jared is currently working as an Advanced Practices Principal Security Researcher at Mandiant since April 2021. Prior to that, they served as an Advisor at Permiso Security from June 2022 to January 2023. Before joining Permiso Security, Jared worked at Gap Inc. as a Cyber Threat Hunter from February 2018 to April 2021. Jared also gained valuable experience at Lockheed Martin, where they held the role of Cyber Fusion Analyst from September 2015 to February 2017 and later became a Cyber Fusion Team Lead from February 2017 to February 2018. Jared's earlier career includes positions as an Information Security Analyst at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems from September 2013 to September 2015 and as an Information Security Analyst/FedRAMP Auditor at Dynamics Research Corporation from April 2013 to September 2013. Additionally, they have previous experience as an intern for Congressman Tim Walberg at the U.S. House of Representatives and as a Full-time Student at Liberty University. At WIS International, they worked as an Inventory Specialist from July 2010 to August 2011. Throughout their career, Jared has demonstrated expertise in threat analysis, cyber threat hunting, malware detection, and security control auditing.

Jared Wilson completed their education with a BS in Computer Science Intelligence Specialization and a minor in Mathematics from Liberty University, where they studied Cyber Security from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they received their High School Diploma in General Education from Kutztown Area High School, where they attended from 2004 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Jared Wilson has obtained various certifications. Jared received the "Detection Engineering with Sigma" certification from Applied Network Defense in August 2021. In June 2020, they obtained the "Ransomware: Practical Reverse Engineering" certification from LinkedIn. In December 2018, Jared acquired the "Complete Python Bootcamp: Go from zero to hero in Python 3" certification from Pierian Data International. Jared also holds the "AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate" certification from Amazon Web Services, obtained in December 2017. In February 2017, they obtained the "Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)" certification from (ISC)². Jared received the "C|EH" certification from EC-Council in December 2013. Lastly, in 2012, they obtained the "CompTIA Security+" certification, although the institution information for this certification is not available.
