Matthew Downes is an accomplished culinary professional with extensive experience in plant-based cuisine and sustainable food solutions. As the Head Technical Development Chef at MANE since March 2020, Matthew leads a team focused on recipe development, culinary innovation, and enhancing MANE's product portfolio, while also acting as the head editor for TASTE magazine. Previous roles include founding Vegan Chef Consulting, where Matthew offered multi-dimensional consulting services, and serving as Executive Chef at various establishments, including the first vegan restaurant in Qatar and The Gothic, which earned recognition as one of the best vegetarian restaurants in America. Matthew holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Wesleyan University and is a graduate of The Natural Gourmet Institute.
