Lorena Tovar

Lorena Tovar has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Lorena currently works as a Mango Live Account Manager at Mango Languages, where they are responsible for coordinating and managing quality assurance supervisions, providing guidance and teaching to coaches, and assisting in curriculum design. Prior to this role, Lorena was a QA - Mango Live Administrator at Mango Languages, where they supervised and supported coaches, designed curriculum, and provided teaching strategies. Lorena also worked as a Spanish Linguistic Coach (E-Learning) at Mango Languages, where they applied the communicative approach to online language instruction and coached and assessed professional clientele.

Lorena's experience also includes working as an Unplugged Intern at Unplugged Quest, where they contributed to the development of a board game for children focused on critical thinking and understanding societal challenges. Lorena served as a Project Manager at CCI Group - Interpretation & Translation, where they researched and prepared contracts and managed relations with companies for future opportunities. At the Florida Immigrant Coalition (FLIC), Lorena held the position of English Innovation Manager, where they trained and oversaw volunteers, secured partnerships, and managed classes.

Additionally, Lorena has worked as a Social Media Coordinator (Contract) at Goodwill Industries of Central Florida, Inc., a Citizenship Program Coordinator at Hope CommUnity Center, and a Project Coordinator at Harbor House of Central Florida. Lorena also served as an Americorps Member at Public Allies, where they developed initiatives, evaluated foster care organizations, and provided training to foster youth. Overall, Lorena has demonstrated a wide range of skills and experience in various fields throughout their career.

Lorena Tovar's education history begins with their obtaining an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Social Sciences from Seminole State College of Florida, which they completed between 2009 and 2011. Lorena then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences with a focus on Communication at the University of Central Florida from 2011 to 2013.

In 2014, Lorena obtained a certification in Event management from the Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership Center at Rollins College. Lorena further expanded their skill set by acquiring the certification of Domestic Abuse Advocate from Harbor House of Central Florida in September 2012.

Lorena's commitment to educational improvement led their to pursue an MSc SmartEdTech, Co-creativity and Digital Tools at the Université Côte d'Azur. Lorena began this program in 2020 and is expected to complete it in 2022. Lorena'sfield of study for their master's degree is in Educational/Instructional Technology.

Additionally, Lorena gained expertise in Instructional Design Foundations and Applications through a certification program offered by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which they obtained in February 2019.
