Mark Burton

VP Engineering Mangopay at Mangopay

Mark Burton has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mark currently holds the position of VP Engineering at Mangopay, a role they started in 2023. Prior to that, Mark served as the Chief Technology Officer at Nethone from July 2022 to present. From November 2020 to June 2022, they held the same CTO position at NorthRow, where they focused on streamlining client onboarding and meeting regulatory obligations.

Mark has also had extensive experience at Yell, where they held various roles such as Head of Software Engineering, Head of App and Web Engineering, and Head of Mobile Technology. During their time at Yell, they played a key role in digital product development, cloud migration, and driving the adoption of microservice architecture.

Before Yell, Mark worked at Hibu as the Global Head of Mobile Technology, where they led product improvement and cost-saving initiatives across multiple operating companies. Mark also worked at GeoSentric as the Director of Software Engineering, specializing in social networking applications and LBS-enabled devices.

Mark began their career at NEC Corporation as a Development Group Leader, managing large engineering teams and working on protocol stack development and embedded systems design. Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated expertise in technology leadership, product development, and fostering innovation.

Mark Burton holds a PhD in High Energy Physics from The University of Manchester. Mark also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Physics from The University of Manchester. Additionally, they have certifications in Agile Development Practices and Lean Technology Strategy: Running Agile at Scale from LinkedIn, as well as certifications in Heterogeneous Parallel Programming and Computing for Data Analysis from Coursera.
