Ed Benefield

Ed Benefield currently serves as an Investigator II at Cox Enterprises, responsible for company investigations across the East Coast since May 2022. In addition, Ed has held the position of Security Manager at Manheim Auto Auction since September 2015, overseeing security operations at two locations and managing private security and training programs. Ed has been involved in coaching Boys Varsity/JV baseball since 2009 when not performing professional duties. Prior to these roles, Ed enjoyed a distinguished career in law enforcement, retiring as a Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigations Division after 26 years of service. Ed holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Valdosta State University and two Associate degrees from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Forestry and Wildlife Technology, as well as a high school diploma from Manheim High School.
