Brent Smith

Brent Smith, FSA, FCIA, is an accomplished professional in the fields of actuarial science and executive compensation with extensive experience in global pensions. At Manulife from October 2013 to May 2016, Brent served as Director of Global Pensions and later as AVP, Head of Executive Compensation and Global Pensions, where responsibilities included the design and governance of pension policies for 79,000 participants across multiple countries, managing pension investments, and reporting to the Board of Directors. Prior to Manulife, Brent was an Actuarial and Investment Consultant at Aon Hewitt, providing consultancy on pension programs and asset management, and began career as an Actuarial Analyst at London Life. Brent holds an Honours degree in Actuarial Science and Statistics from The University of Western Ontario and studied Mandarin Chinese at Beijing Language and Culture University. Currently, Brent is the Vice President, Head of Executive Compensation at Manulife since September 2023.
