Yan Hai

Yan Hai is a Vice President and the Head of Regulatory & Public Affairs for Manulife in Asia, a role they have held since 2021. With extensive experience in government and public affairs, Yan previously served as Director for Public Affairs Asia Pacific at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, where they led significant initiatives including a cooperation MOU with China's NDRC. Earlier in their career, Yan worked at Brunswick Group and Albright Stonebridge Group, providing strategic advice to executives on public affairs and crisis management. Yan began their professional journey in the Chinese civil and diplomatic services, holding positions at the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands and Indonesia, and at the Ministry of Culture. They hold an MPhil. in Contemporary European Studies from Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge, and currently serve on the Board of Directors of the Canada-China Business Council.
