Alexander Starkov

Alexander Starkov is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in software development and architecture. Currently serving as an Engineering Manager at Mapbox since January 2022, Alexander has focused on establishing effective team processes and developing C++ map rendering solutions. Prior roles include Principal Software Architect at Vaisala, where strategic technology guidance was provided, and Software Engineering Manager at Unity Technologies, where an engineering department was built from the ground up. With significant experience at F-Secure Corporation, Alexander contributed to the establishment of Endpoint Detection and Response solutions and led various teams in anti-malware technologies. Additional expertise includes software engineering roles at Supponor Oy and Arcadia, Inc., as well as foundational experience gained through early work at the Laboratory of Interactive Systems. Alexander holds a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University.
