Blake Thompson is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in leading technology initiatives across multiple companies. Currently serving as the Head of Directions and Traffic at Mapbox since January 2015, Blake has also held roles as Director of Maps APIs and Staff Software Engineer, contributing to the design of maps distribution and creation platforms. Prior to Mapbox, Blake worked at Weather Decision Technologies Inc. as a Software Engineer, developing a weather image API and forecast generation product. Additional experience includes a tenure as a software engineer and analyst for Arctic Slope Regional Corporation, co-founding Chkrs.com and Two Fingers Entertainment, and early positions at the University of Oklahoma and ONEsite. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Blake has a proven track record of developing complex systems and applications, guiding teams, and achieving high user engagement in gaming environments.
