Stephen Kennedy

Stephen Kennedy is a Senior Map Designer at Mapbox since August 2023, bringing extensive experience in design and urban planning. As the Co-Founder of New Market Goods from 2014 to 2024, Stephen focused on promoting positive production practices in Bangladesh. Previous roles include Design Director, Design Manager, and Product Design Lead at UrbanFootprint, where impactful software solutions for urban planners were developed. Experience as Design Lead at Sidewalk Labs involved contributing to the mobility-tech spin-out Coord. Prior positions include Interaction Designer at IDEO.org, Senior Design & Technology Fellow at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and freelance design work serving notable clients such as the World Bank and MIT. Academic credentials include a Master in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
