Taya Lavrinenko is an accomplished lead map designer with extensive experience in cartography and visual communication. Currently at Mapbox since July 2021, Taya has advanced from Senior map designer to Lead map designer. Prior experience includes serving as Lead cartographic designer at Yandex from February 2019 to July 2021, where Taya led a team in redesigning Yandex Maps for various applications. Taya also worked as Lead Cartographer at Urbica Design from June 2015 to February 2019, focusing on visual strategies and GIS tools. Previous roles include Designer-cartographer and GIS Specialist at Vokrug Sveta magazine and Leading Specialist in the Moscow Metro's visual information department. Taya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Cartography from Lomonosov Moscow State University and a Master’s degree in Communication Design from the Higher School of Economics.
