No one should have to be lonely. MapChat is a location-based social app that helps people in the same place at the same time actually meet.

What we do
We map the third places where real life happens: the bars, restaurants, and nightlife venues where strangers become regulars and regulars become friends. Open the app to see where the energy is, find your people, and join in. Our in-app games layer turns a room full of strangers into a table full of players, so the hardest part of meeting someone, the first hello, takes care of itself.

Where we are
MapChat is live on iOS and Android, with more than 4,000 vetted venues across Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and the Monadnock region of New Hampshire, each one catalogued with events, specials, and vibe data you will not find anywhere else.

Why it matters
We are living through a loneliness epidemic. People are more connected online and more alone in person than ever. MapChat is not another feed to scroll. It is a reason to look up, show up, and belong somewhere. We are building the social layer for the physical world, one third place at a time.

Founded in Los Angeles by Benji Steely-Boehlke.
