James O'Neal

James O'Neal is a seasoned tax professional currently serving as Co Head of the Luxembourg Tax Team and Principal at Maples Group since October 2018, specializing in Luxembourg tax planning for investment structures and cross-border finance. With a career trajectory beginning in 1999 and a focus on Luxembourg tax since 2002, James has held various roles including Secretary on the Executive Committee and Tax Committee for AMCHAM Luxembourg since January 2004, while also serving as Country Leader for RO-Luxembourg from June 2015 to February 2022. Previous experience includes positions as Principal at AMMC Law, Director at KPMG Luxembourg, Senior Manager at KPMG Tax Sàrl, and Senior Tax Advisor at PricewaterhouseCoopers. James holds an LL.M. in Tax from New York University School of Law and a J.D. from the University of Florida's Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
