Nigel Marcussen

Nigel Marcussen currently serves as the VP of Scaling at Mytra, focusing on scaling the hardware stack for the robot revolution since June 2025. In parallel, Nigel has been an advisor at Mapped since March 2020. Previously, from June 2021 to May 2025, Nigel held the role of Sr Director of Manufacturing Engineering at Rivian, where contributions included recruiting leaders for the BID team and overseeing the introduction of the R1S, along with enhancing production efficiency for Rivian's Gen2 R1 product. Prior to that, Nigel was the Sr Director of Building Infrastructure Design at Rivian, successfully expanding the engineering team to support the company’s real estate portfolio. Experience also includes serving as Head of Engineering at the Google R+D Lab for the Built Environment, with a focus on innovative building designs, and leading building automation and engineering teams at WeWork from November 2016 to March 2020. Educational credentials include a Master of Studies in Interdisciplinary Design in the Built Environment from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
