Paramvir N. is the founder and CEO of Mapsted, a leading indoor navigation solutions company. Since its launch in 2014, Paramvir has overseen all aspects of operations, including managing a team of over 50 professionals and handling budgets. Paramvir has also played a key role in developing and executing strategic plans to achieve the company's mission.
Prior to founding Mapsted, Paramvir worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Windsor from 2012 to 2013. During this time, they designed and developed location positioning strategies using NFC and RFID tags. Paramvir also managed a capstone project focused on equipment and personnel tracking in a Wi-Fi building, where they implemented a high-quality software solution. Additionally, Paramvir's work in this role led to the publication of an IEEE conference paper on indoor positioning using magnetic compass and accelerometer of smartphones.
Before their time at the University of Windsor, Paramvir worked at IBM as a WebSphere Technical Support Specialist from 2011 to 2012. In this role, they evaluated system logs to diagnose problems, installed clustered WebSphere environments for testing, and deployed various products for production and proof-of-concept, including WebSphere Application Server and Cognos BI. Paramvir also successfully resolved technical problems related to WebSphere Commerce by coordinating with employees of Fortune 500 companies.
Between 2009 and 2013, Paramvir N. pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Windsor. They obtained their degree with great distinction, focusing on the field of Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering.
